                                         Lymphedema in Feet & Legs

If left untreated, lymphedema can lead to the hardening of underlying soft tissue (fibrosis) and overall bulkiness in the arms or legs.  The changes in the skin's mobility and texture associated with untreated lymphedema may contribute to increased susceptibility to infections, such as cellulitis.  Chronic swelling can reduce the level of oxygen flow to the tissues and interfere with wound healing.
